Araboro microficlet

Still alive and still around ;)
Busy with lots of things, good ones like trips to Ireland this summer and Police concert ten days ago, and boring ones like lots of work.
And most of all still having VigBean and scions thereof as the only pairing ;)
This is an impromptu microficlet inspired by the way my neighbours' cat purrs. Could have been a drabble but I've become too lazy to trim down
“You need to keep quiet, or they will hear us..” Aragorn warns, hand pressing down on the other man’s mouth to silence him.
The hand turns the cry into a stifled sound rumbling deep in the man’s chest.
It reminds Aragorn of a cat he had in what now feels like a lifetime ago, a cat that, when stroked in the right way, would make a sound so hoarse and male it felt diminishing to call it a purr.
It reminds Aragorn of something Gandalf said back in Rivendell.
”You’re not to worry, Boromir is like a big tomcat, aggressive and hissing. But rub him the right way and you’ll get him to purr...”
He has certainly found the way to make the tomcat purr, Aragorn thinks, grinning in the dark as he wipes his sticky hand on the heavy cloth of the Gondorian’s cloak.

Date: 2007-10-15 07:32 pm (UTC)And how very weird is it that the thing I love best about this piece is the sentence of Gandalf's and the fact that the cunning wizard knew that this would happen? *hugs some more*

Date: 2007-10-16 07:58 pm (UTC)Ireland was pure bliss, though I drank far too much Guinness and it is the kind of magical place that makes it even hard to come back to the real world ;)
And Gandalf ever was a wise, far-seeing man *huggles*

Date: 2007-10-15 07:41 pm (UTC)And the thought of Boromir purring.... mmm, that's lovely. *grin* The question is, does Aragorn purr? Or is his more, growling friendly-like?
A lovely little ficlet, just the thing to put a smile on my face--thank you, dear!

Oh no, missy, we're not getting into that.. Bori/Gandalf? no way.. maybe Gandalf had that kind of experience with Saruman? though S would me more the hissy kind of cat than the purry one
